In several meetings that I have attended, the participants are told to “pull your own happiness wagon.” Translated means, “Don’t expect any breaks during the meeting. If you need a break, take one. If you want a drink, get one. If you are hungry, get a snack.”
I have wondered about that general philosophy. Should you pull your own happiness wagon? How does that translate into life?
I can see both sides of it. One side says, “You bet! Don’t depend on anyone else to keep you happy or fulfill your needs.” The other side says, “Aren’t we to tend to each other? Shouldn’t we be watching out for each other, considering others’ needs more important than our own?
Pull your own happiness wagon…what do you think?
