laundry_basketA list of what I am not great at:

  • folding clothes
  • cleaning house
  • exercising
  • sending appropriate notes/thank yous
  • comforting those who are grieving
  • being a friend
  • Bible study

The list goes on and on.  I’m just really not a great human being.  By the grace of God, I’m saved.  By the grace of God, I’m being transformed.  However, I’m not one of those super-talented people who has it all going on.

I completely dismiss the old adage, “If something is not worth doing right, it’s not worth doing.”  I think there are a lot of things that are worth just doing.  Like laundry or exercise or comforting others.  Bible study is worth doing even on the days I can’t focus very well.   Cleaning house is worth doing even if I just knock off the first layer of dirt. Exercise is worth doing even when I walk and don’t run, wear my pajamas, and last for 20 minutes, not an hour.

I wonder how many adventures are not taken, friends not made, and goals not attempted for fear of not doing it right or great.

I like the Nike slogan…Just do it!
